{"id":19502,"date":"2023-07-03T20:33:05","date_gmt":"2023-07-03T07:33:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/clladvocates.nz\/?p=19502"},"modified":"2023-07-03T20:33:05","modified_gmt":"2023-07-03T07:33:05","slug":"cll-advocates-newest-trustee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/clladvocates.nz\/?p=19502","title":{"rendered":"CLL Advocates Newest Trustee"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>A very warm welcome to our newest CLL Advocates NZ Trustee, Diane Ward. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Regular followers of our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/560256231130769\">Facebook group<\/a> will know Diane well, and we\u2019re delighted she\u2019s willing to join the Board and contribute her skills and lived experience and her in-depth knowledge of CLL to our work.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">Here is a little bit about the lovely Diane:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Diane Ward is a retired primary teacher, principal, and ESL teacher. She is well travelled and has lived and worked in several different countries.<\/p>\n<p>She was diagnosed\u00a0with CLL in 2018.\u00a0It came as a shock and since then she has made a number of lifestyle changes. She has researched CLL and is passionate about fighting for the funding of drugs that are readily available in many other countries as first line treatment.<\/p>\n<p>She would like everybody who is diagnosed with CLL to have a funded initial appointment with a specialist who could explain its intricacies.<\/p>\n<p>Diane is a regular contributor to our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/cllanz\">Facebook group<\/a> and is keen to encourage wider engagement in discussion and active support for our efforts to access better treatments for New Zealanders living with CLL.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A very warm welcome to our newest CLL Advocates NZ Trustee, Diane Ward.
